Description

The building is a former stable block, dating from the mid to late 18th century, later converted into two dwellings in the late 20th century. Constructed of squared coursed limestone with a stone slate roof, it originally formed a rectangular range. The structure now has an 11-window facade, with leaded casement windows under wooden lintels; some of these windows are 20th century replacements. There are four 20th-century plank and panel doors situated between the windows, also under wooden lintels. The outline of a blocked carriage arch is visible in the centre of the range. Ashlar stacks are located at the ridge and end of the building. The interiors have not been inspected. Originally part of the stables and outbuildings of Cotterstock Hall, the building is included on the list for its group value.
