Description

The Manor House and Dovecote House is a former manor house that has been converted into two dwellings. It features a datestone from 1720 and was extended in the mid-19th century. The building is constructed of squared coursed limestone with an ashlar facade and a Collyweston slate roof. Originally designed in a T-shape with a stair turret, it now has an L-shape plan. The structure is two storeys high with an attic and has a six-window range of 19th-century sash windows set in original openings, all under gauged stone heads with keyblocks.

To the left of the centre, there is a four-panel door with a semi-circular fanlight, plain wood pilasters, and a triangular dentilled pediment. The building features a chamfered plinth and a raised band between the floors. There are three hipped roof dormers with 19th-century sash windows, along with ashlar gable parapets, kneelers, and ashlar ridge and end stacks that have moulded cornices.

On the rear elevation, there is a tall arch-headed window that is now blocked. The rear wing was extended in the mid-19th century and includes various 19th-century sash and casement windows. While the interior was not inspected, it is noted to have an early 18th-century fireplace with a moulded stone surround and the original roof structure in the main range.
