Description
Washbrook Cottage and Willowbank Cottage are two houses dating from the early 18th century. They are constructed from regularly coursed limestone and topped with thatch roofs. The buildings have a two-unit plan and are single-storey with an attic. The front features a five-window range of casements, some of which have glazing bars. The casements for Washbrook Cottage are set under wooden lintels, while those for Willowbank Cottage are under gauged stone heads with keyblocks. There are also casements in the attic, located beneath eyebrow dormers. Between the window range, there are two 20th-century doors, also under wooden lintels. Both houses have ashlar stacks at the ridge and end. The two cottages were built at different times; Willowbank Cottage includes a late 18th-century thatched wing at the rear. Inside Washbrook Cottage, there are ceiling beams and an open fireplace with a bressumer.
