Description
Museum Cottages is a building that has been converted into two dwellings. It dates from the late 17th century and was altered in the 19th century. The structure is made of squared coursed limestone and features a thatched roof. It was originally likely designed with a three-unit plan and has two storeys. The front has a three-window range, with one leaded casement window in the centre of the first floor; the other windows are 19th-century casements located under shallow eyebrow dormers, while the ground floor windows are set beneath wooden lintels. There are two 19th-century plank doors located in the centre and to the right, and a 20th-century door to the left, all also under wooden lintels. The ends of the building have ashlar stacks with moulded cornices. Inside, the room on the far left features an open fireplace with a bressumer and chamfered spine beams, while the room on the far right has a close studded staircase wall. The building was converted into two dwellings in the 19th century.
