Description
The Shuckburgh Arms Public House is a building that was originally a house, likely dating from the late 17th century and modified in the mid 19th century. It is constructed from squared coursed limestone and features both thatch and slate roofs. The building has a two-storey, three-window facade with 19th-century casement windows set beneath wooden lintels. The central entrance is a plank door, also beneath a continuous wooden lintel, flanked by windows. There are brick stacks located at the ridge and the ends of the building. To the right, there is a 19th-century one-unit extension with a slate roof and 19th-century casement windows and door set under shallow stone arches. Inside, the pub has an open fireplace with a bressumer and chamfered ceiling beams. The building was converted into a public house around 1840.
