Description
32 and 32A Church Lane are two houses located on the south side of Church Lane in Sywell. They were built in the mid-18th century and mid-19th century. The buildings feature regular coursed lias and brick construction, topped with a combination of 20th-century plain-tile and slate roofs. Each house has a two-unit plan.
No. 32 has a two-window range of casements with glazing bars set beneath wooden lintels, and it has brick stacks at the ridge and end. There is a lean-to structure attached to the left side. No. 32A, attached to the right, is constructed of brick and has a three-window range of casements with glazing bars under wooden lintels and shallow brick arches. There is an arched head passageway at the far right. The rear of both houses is similar, featuring two 20th-century doors. The interiors have not been inspected. These buildings are included for their group value.
