Description
Oundle Post Office, dated 1903, is located on the west side of New Street. The building features two gabled dormers with Ionic pilastered architraves framing 2-light mullioned windows. It is constructed over two storeys in ashlar stone, topped with a stone slate roof and a stone stack. A cornice and string course run above two 6-light windows that have mullions and transoms, with a cornice and string course at the cills that connects to the door above, supported by reeded consoles. The doorway is adorned with reeded pilasters and a keystone beneath a round arch. The ground floor includes a mullion and transom window with 10 lights. All the listed buildings on New Street form a cohesive group.
