Description

This is a range of outbuildings, possibly originally a brewhouse and kennels, located approximately 20 meters southeast of the Dower House. It dates from the early 18th century and is constructed of red brick and coursed limestone rubble, topped with Collyweston stone slate roofs. The red brick section, likely the brewhouse, features a hipped roof with a hipped ventilator dormer and two brick ridge stacks. It is a single storey building that was originally a five-window range, although bays three and four have been altered with a large round-headed opening. Bays one and two contain cross windows that are partly blocked; bay one has some small-paned glazing, while bay two has a ventilator in the upper part. Bay five includes a low door with a recess above that displays the Montagu arms, featuring bi-coloured brick voussoirs. Attached to this is a low stone range with a monopitch roof, divided by a central flight of steps, and it has plain door and window openings, some fitted with simple wooden doors.
