Description

No. 2 Market Place is a small, low 17th-century house with two storeys, constructed from coursed small dressed stone and featuring chamfered quoins. The steep stone slate roof has two hipped dormers and an eaves cornice made of wood and stucco. At the end of No. 2 West Street, there is a chimney with heavy paired flues linked by a cornice top, and a narrow semi-circular headed space between the flues, which has an architrave and archivolt. The first floor has two late windows with casements and leaded lights. The ground floor showcases an attractive mid-19th-century shop front, along with an early low doorway that features a panelled door. All the listed buildings in Market Place are part of a group.
