Description

Manor House is an early 18th-century building located on Manor Road in Mears Ashby. It is constructed from lias ashlar and features original plain-tile and slate roofs. The house has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys high with an attic. The entrance front has a three-window range, with a central ashlar porch that includes pilasters at the corners, a simple cornice, and a flat roof. The entrance consists of a six-panel door with glazed top lights and an arched head fanlight. The sash windows, which have glazing bars, are set under gauged stone arches, and there is a flat string course between the floors. A moulded ashlar cornice and gabled roof dormers with casement windows are also present. The hipped roof has brick stacks at the ridge.

To the left, there is an early 19th-century one-bay extension that features a similar first-floor window and a hipped slate roof. The elevation to the right of the entrance front mirrors this, with a two-window range that includes a blank window on the first floor to the left. The garden front at the rear of the entrance front is similar, presenting a three-window range with central 19th-century French windows that have margin lights. An early 19th-century extension to the right includes two narrow sash windows with glazing bars.

Inside, the entrance hall features a staircase in the 18th-century style, though it has been altered in the 20th century. There are also some six-panelled doors and panelled window reveals.
