Description
59 Church Street is a 17th-century house that was restored in the 20th century. It is built of squared coursed limestone and features a Collyweston slate roof. The house originally had a one-unit plan and is a single storey with an attic. The front has a two-window range consisting of 2- and 3-light ovolo-moulded stone mullion windows with hood moulds. There is a narrow leaded window to the right of center, which is set under a wood lintel. On the left side, there is a gabled eaves dormer with a 19th-century casement, and on the right, a 20th-century roof window. The door, located at the far right, is also under a wood lintel. At the rear, there is a rebuilt internal stone stack, along with eaves dormers and some 20th-century openings. The interior has not been inspected.
