Description
Old Farmhouse is a late 17th-century farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It features regular coursed lias stone and a thatched roof, originally designed in a T-shape. The building is two storeys high with an attic. The main front has two wings, each with a two-window range that includes leaded casements, which have been renewed, set under wood lintels. The gable ends have ashlar parapets and kneelers, with rendered brick and stone stacks at the ends. There are small 20th-century extensions between the wings and to the right. The rear elevation is similar to the front and includes a 20th-century entrance. Former stables attached to the rear are now part of the house. Inside, the room to the right of the entrance hall features a small open fireplace in the corner with a bressumer. There are remains of a similar fireplace in the opposite corner of the room above. The room to the left of the entrance also has an open fireplace with a bressumer, along with moulded spine beams.
