Description
North Lodge Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse with an L-shaped plan, constructed from brick and topped with a slate roof. The building stands three storeys tall, featuring a main front that has a three-window range. A central six-panel door is set beneath a gauged brick head with a keyblock. The late 19th-century sash windows are located in their original openings, also under gauged brick heads with keyblocks. The farmhouse is adorned with ashlar gable parapets and kneelers, along with brick stacks at each end. To the right, there is a one-unit, two-storey range that is similar in style. The rear wing also reflects this design.
Inside, the entrance hall showcases an early 19th-century staircase with a stick balustrade and two reeded wood pilasters at the first-floor landing. The interior includes panelled window reveals and remnants of an open fireplace in the kitchen area. The farmhouse was likely constructed using locally made bricks and was drawn by George Clarke in 1846, as noted in the Northamptonshire Records Office's Pictorial Collection.
