Description

Rose Cottage is a house dating from the early to mid 18th century. It is built of regularly coursed limestone and has a thatched roof. The building has an L-shaped plan and is a single storey with an attic. The front features a two-window range of 19th-century casements set beneath wooden lintels. The attic also has similar windows located under eyebrow dormers. There are brick and stone stacks at both ends of the house. A central 20th-century door, which is also under a wooden lintel, provides access. The rear wing mirrors the front and has a plank door to the left. Inside, there are remnants of an open fireplace in the kitchen at the back, along with spine beams and some 18th-century two-panelled doors.
