Description

5 and 7 Church Way are a house, now divided into two dwellings, dating from the early and late 18th century. The construction is of regular coursed limestone with ironstone dressings, topped with a pantile roof. Originally designed with a two-unit plan, the house is two storeys high with an attic. The front features a two-window range of irregularly spaced 19th-century casement windows, with two smaller casements on the left and right, all set beneath wooden lintels. A 20th-century door is located on the far left, sheltered by a gabled hood, and a small, canted wooden bay window extends from the right. Brick stacks are visible at the ridge and end of the building. The house was likely raised from a single-storey structure in the late 18th century. The interior remains unexamined. The building is included on the heritage register for its contribution to the surrounding group of buildings.
