Description

Grooms Cottage, located on the north side of the stable yard to the northeast of Chilton House, is a cottage that was originally a stable and hayloft. It dates from the 19th century and was altered around 1960 to serve as a cottage. The building is constructed of rubblestone and features a slate roof. It has four bays and two storeys. The door situated between the left-hand bays is highlighted with brick dressings. There are modern two-light casement windows, and a hayloft entry above the door has been blocked. A stack is positioned behind the ridge on the right side. The cottage is listed for its group value with the surrounding structures.
