Description
The Woodman's Cottage is a cottage dating from the early to mid-18th century, with a rear bay that was rebuilt in the early 19th century and renovated in 1939. The front bay features slight timber framing on the upper storey of the right side and rebuilt timber framing on the upper storey of the front gable. The remainder of the structure has been rebuilt in brick during the 19th and 20th centuries, while the rear bay is constructed of red and vitreous brick with dentil eaves. The cottage has an old tile roof and an external brick chimney on the left side of the front bay. It is one storey and has an attic, consisting of two bays. The windows are 20th-century leaded casements, with a three-light casement on the ground floor of the front gable and two paired casements in the attic. There are 20th-century wooden French doors on the left side of the rear bay, along with another door on the right side of the rear bays. A lean-to was added to the far gable in 1939. The cottage is included for its group value.
