Description
Pigeonhouse Farmhouse is a house that has been converted into two dwellings. It dates back to the 16th century, with alterations made in the 18th and 19th centuries, and was renovated in the 20th century. The exterior features colourwashed roughcast, with the rear wall having concealed timber framing. It has brick eaves and a plain tile roof that is hipped over the left bay. The right gable is shaped and has brick coping, and there are rebuilt brick chimneys. The building is two storeys high and consists of four bays, with the left bay being a 19th-century extension and the right bay enlarged in the 18th century. The windows are 20th-century four-light barred wooden casements, and there is a similar two-light casement to the right of the left bay, above a 20th-century board door. A board door is located between the right bays and has a minimal board hood supported by shaped brackets. There is also a small 20th-century rendered porch on the right gable. Inside, the three original bays contain some timber framing in the internal walls. The centre bay features a central hollow-chamfered arch-braced truss, chamfered arched wind-braces, and an inserted 17th-century chimney and floor, which includes a heavy stop-chamfered spine beam.
