Description
The Keeper's Cottage is a small house dating from the early to mid-18th century, with renovations made in 1939. It features a timber frame with brick infill, which is whitewashed on the right side. The front gable end and the left side of the rear bay have been rebuilt in brick during the 19th and 20th centuries. The cottage has an old tile roof and an external brick chimney on the left side of the front bay, along with 20th-century brick chimneys on the rear gable. It is two storeys high and consists of two bays. The gable end facing the road has 20th-century three-light leaded casement windows, with a leaded lunette above the upper window. There is a 20th-century glazed door to the right, and the lower openings feature cambered heads. A 20th-century lean-to porch is located on the right side of the rear bay. Inside, the front bay includes a stop-chamfered spine beam and fairly substantial joists.
