Description
The Crooked Billet is a public house located on Sheepridge Lane in Chepping Wycombe. It dates from the early 18th century and has undergone alterations over time. The building was recased in brick in the 19th century, featuring flint gables and some exposed timber framing at the center front. It has an old tiled roof and flanking brick chimneys. The structure is two storeys high with two bays. The windows are 20th-century paired wooden casements, with the right side featuring glazing bars and lower windows that have segmental heads. There is a 20th-century door to the left of center, topped with a leaded board hood supported by a shaped bracket. A former doorway to the right of center has been blocked. Additionally, there is a small brick extension to the right and small blocked roundels in the gables. At the rear, there is a raised outshot with two 20th-century brick gables.
