Description

This is a house dating from the 17th century, with evidence of an earlier building, and remodelled in the late 19th and 20th centuries. The left gable has a timber frame with remnants of a cruck truss, brick infill, and a rubble stone plinth. The front facade was rebuilt in brick, while the rear is rendered and whitewashed. The roof is tiled and hipped to the right, covering a 20th-century extension. There is a brick chimney on the original right gable, and a 20th-century chimney on the left. The house originally had two bays and now has two storeys. It features 3-light wooden casements with bars; those on the ground floor have cambered heads. A 2-light casement sits within a blocked doorway at the centre. A one-bay extension to the right has a smaller 2-light casement above a 20th-century doorcase with a flat hood. A single-storey 20th-century extension is located at the rear. A finely carved arch with spandrels and roll-moulding, likely not original, is visible.
