Description
This is a house located at 5 Vicarage Road, dating from the 17th century and altered over time. It is possibly part timber framed but is now covered with whitewashed render. The roof is made of old tiles, with a coped gable on the left side and a central brick chimney stack. The building has a T-plan layout with a gabled projection made of rubble stone to the north. It stands two storeys high and has two bays. The projection features a first-floor window with an old mullion, and there is a similar window on the south front. The other windows are from the 20th century. The entrance on the north side has re-sited stone gargoyle heads located at the eaves. There are 20th-century conservatories on the south side and at the angle of the north front. A 19th-century bay on the east side, which was formerly part of No. 1, is noted as not being of special interest.
