Description
Ashley Cottage is a late 17th century timber-framed house that was refronted in the 18th century with brick. It has been extended to the left by one bay in the 19th century and features a rear wing, forming an L-plan layout. The building is constructed of brick and has old tile roofs. It stands two storeys high with a three-bay north front. The right-hand bays date from the 18th century and include a central entrance that is now behind a modern porch. The front has grey brick headers, while the timber-framing is exposed at the rear with painted brick infilling. The left bay is made of red brick and features a gable along with a two-storey rear wing, both of which are colourwashed. The windows are mostly casement style, with three-light lean-to windows on the left side of the front elevation. The house has end stacks.
