Description
The pair of statues located south of Hartwell House are from the early 18th century and depict a classical god and goddess, each accompanied by large birds. Originally, these statues were positioned on either side of the south end of the Long Canal on the east side of Hartwell House. They were moved to their current location, flanking the main southern access of the house, likely in the mid-18th century. Each statue is made of stone and stands on a square stone base that features a moulded plinth and cornice.
