Description
The Eagle Public House is located on the north side of Amersham High Street at number 145. The building features an 18th-century front that is part of an earlier structure. It has a chequer pattern of red stretchers and grey headers in the brickwork, topped by an old tile roof with a grey banded parapet. The building stands two storeys high and has two double-hung sash windows with flush frames and cambered arches on the ground floor, while the first floor windows are segmental. The central doorway is framed by a wooden surround with thin Roman Doric pilasters, a rough entablature, and a pediment. To the left, there is a later red brick addition that is also two storeys high, featuring a ground floor carriageway and one sash window on the first floor, both with segmental arches.
