Description

Erriwig Farmhouse is a house dating from the 16th century, with a 17th-century northwest wing and an 18th-century brick casing that is now colourwashed. The building features an old tiled roof with a hipped gable and scalloped bargeboards. The original house is timber framed and has an oversailing upper floor on all four sides, standing two storeys high.

On the northeast elevation, the original house is on the left, showcasing a cogged brick band beneath the oversailing upper storey, a modern recessed entrance, a two-light casement window on the left, and two additional two-light casements on the first floor. To the right is a lower-roofed wing with a brick first-floor band, featuring three two-light casements on the ground floor and two on the first floor, all with leaded glazing, some of which is old.

The northwest elevation displays the gable end of the 17th-century wing on the left, which has a projecting brick stack and a large projecting stack with a tiled offset, along with an inglenook window in the centre and one bay with exposed joists of the oversailing upper floor on the right. The southwest elevation, facing the yard, has two double-hung sash windows on the ground floor. An attached lower outbuilding on the southeast side links to a farm building.

Inside, the farmhouse features exposed timber framing, including dragon beams at each corner, and a large inglenook fireplace.
