Description
The Diamond Jubilee Well is a well house built in 1897, featuring oak framing and a tiled roof. Designed by craftsmen from Liberty and Co, it showcases Art Nouveau details and has a hexagonal plan topped with a pyramid roof. The south side has double gates, while fixed gates are positioned between other posts. The winding machinery inside is still intact. An inscription on the top rail of the gates reads, "This well was built by public subscription in commemoration of Her Majesty's Diamond Jubilee, Anno Domini MD CCCXCVII." The gate is equipped with heavy iron hinges and is inscribed with 'The Lee Common Jubilee Well'.
