Description
Bassibones Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from around 1690, although there is some evidence of an earlier house from the 17th century. It is constructed of red brick with dark headers and features fragments of timber framing at the rear. The roof is covered with old tiles. The building has two wide bays and stands two storeys tall, with a flint plinth and brick dressings. The central door is located in a modern gabled porch in front of the stack. There are three-light casement windows and blocked outer windows, along with a band course. The first floor has similar windows, except for a two-light window above the entry. The eaves are moulded and painted, and there is a central stack with three staggered flues topped with a moulded cape. The north gable is dated with vitrified header bricks reading '169..', although the last figure is obscured.
