Description
Boxtree Cottage is a small house dating from the 17th century. It features a timber frame with colourwashed brick infill and a ground floor also made of brick. The roof is covered with old tiles and the building has two storeys. On the ground floor, there are four leaded casement windows, while the first floor has two leaded casements. A chimney stack is located at the southeast end of the cottage. At the northwest end, there is a colourwashed brick addition that continues under the roof and has dentil brick eaves. The first bay of the cottage is from the 18th century and has one casement window on each floor, with the ground floor window featuring a segmental arched head. The second bay was added around 1974, using matching materials and style. Inside, original timbers are exposed in the southern part of the cottage.
