Description

Mildmay, May Cottage, and Mildmay Cottage is a house dating from the 16th century that has been altered and divided into three cottages. The structure is timber framed with colour washed brick infill, and the northern cross wing is cased in 19th century purple brick. It features an old tile roof and stands two storeys tall. The first floor of Mildmay Cottage overhangs, supported by exposed joist ends. An original door lintel is carved with initials and the date "RG IG HG EG 1571". The 19th century wing on the left, known as The Limes, is not of particular interest.
