Description
19 and 20 West Street are a pair of houses that have been converted into offices. They were built in the early 19th century and altered in the 20th century. The buildings are constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and feature a slate roof with brick stacks at each end.
The houses have a double-depth plan and rise three stories high with a three-window range. To the left of the center, there is a six-paned, part-glazed door with panelled reveals, a reeded wood surround with decorative paterae at the corners, and a thin straight hood above. To the right of the center, there is a 20th-century door with a similar surround, and to the far right, there is another six-panel part-glazed door with a flat-arched head.
The ground and first floors have 16-pane sash windows with gauged brick flat-arched heads, while the second floor features sliding casement windows, also with flat-arched heads. The buildings have a plinth and stone steps leading to the door, along with a band at the second-floor storey.
