Description
Broomstick Cottage is a small house dating from the late 17th to 18th century, with some alterations. It features a timber frame with whitewashed brick infill, while the southwest gable is encased in red brick from the 20th century. The cottage has a thatched roof and a central brick chimney. It is 1 ½ storeys high and consists of 2 bays. The front is mostly hidden by No. 8 but includes a horizontal sliding sash window on the ground floor to the left, a 19th-century paired wooden casement window above, and a boarded door. The center has a single light in a blocked doorway located in a small alley. There is a single-storey flat-roofed extension to the left. The rear of the cottage features barred wooden casements, one set in thatch, and a 20th-century lean-to on the right.
