Description

A set of four gate piers and gates at the west entrance to Medmenham Abbey, dating from around 1900. The piers are made of ashlar and feature raised moulded panels and moulded cornices. The outer piers are slightly taller and are topped with carved stone cup finials adorned with acanthus ornament. The wrought iron gates are decorated with scroll ornament and feature pinecone and daisy finials. This structure is included for its group value.
