Description

Upper Barn Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century, with some parts rebuilt. The left bay and right gable feature colourwashed render, likely over a timber frame. The remainder of the right bays have been rebuilt in brick and colourwashed, with a brick and render plinth. The roof is half-hipped and covered with old tiles, and there is a brick chimney between the left bays that was rebuilt in the 19th century. The house has two storeys and three bays. The wooden casements are irregular, with those on the ground floor having segmental heads, while the upper left window slightly breaks through the eaves. There is a 20th-century barred and glazed door to the right and a lean-to at the rear dating from the 19th to 20th century. Some timber framing is present in the internal partition walls.
