Description
Tumbling Acre is a house dating from the 17th century that has been altered and extended. The central bay features a timber frame with colourwashed brick infill and a rubble stone plinth. The projecting bay to the right has a ground floor made of colourwashed rubble stone, with a timber frame above that includes similar brick and plaster infill. The left bay is a 19th-century extension constructed of colourwashed brick and topped with a tiled roof. The rest of the building has a thatched roof with a hip over the projection and three small brick chimneys. The central bay is one storey with an attic, featuring an upper window in a dormer with a tiled apron, while the remainder of the house is two storeys. The windows are irregular casements, some of which have 20th-century diamond leading. There is a 20th-century door in the left bay, accompanied by a lean-to timber porch.
