Description

This is a 17th-century house, substantially altered. It is timber-framed with brick infill, some of which is herringbone pattern, and is whitewashed to the front. It has a rubble stone plinth and a thatched roof, half-hipped to the left. A rebuilt brick chimney sits between the left bays. The house is one-and-a-half storeys high and originally comprised three bays. It features leaded casement windows; a two-light window is located on the ground floor to the left, while the remaining ground floor and first-floor windows are three-light. The ground floor windows have thick wooden frames, and the first-floor windows are set within the thatch. A lobby entry provides access via a board door between the left bays. A blocked opening, featuring a moulded brick open pediment, is situated in the left bay. A 19th-century brick extension is located to the right and has a slate roof, a brick chimney, 20th-century leaded casement windows, and a board door. Inside the original left bay is a stop-chamfered spine beam, with run-out stops, and a fireplace with a carved wooden bracket bearing the inscription "ER" and the date 1675. An inserted staircase incorporates elements from the 18th century. The extension contains a moulded stone fireplace.
