Description

The Old Forge comprises a range of two houses built in the early to mid-19th century, with two distinct phases of construction. The houses are constructed of chequered brick; No. 15 has pale brick headers and painted rendered voussoir heads around the openings, while No. 17 features dark headers with gauged red brick heads. Both houses have a hipped roof covered in old tiles, with brick chimneys positioned to the left and centre. The houses are double-fronted across two storeys. No. 15 has paired, barred wooden casement windows and a 20th-century door, while No. 17 has three-light casement windows and a flush-panelled door with a top light. A red brick extension, with a hipped tile roof, was added in the 20th century to the right side; it is a single storey with an attic containing a dormer window. The property is included on the list for its group value.
