Description
The Royal George is a house dating from the early 17th century, with alterations made in the early 19th century. The two left bays feature a timber frame with herringbone brick infill and a brick plinth, while the two wider bays on the right include some timber framing with thin brick infill at the rear, but the front and gable have been rebuilt in brick. The house has a thatched roof that is half-hipped to the left, with rebuilt brick chimneys located on the right and in the center. It is 1½ storeys high and consists of four bays. The right bay has a three-light leaded casement window on the ground floor, while the other windows are barred wooden casements, with those on the first floor of the center bays set in thatch. There is a central lobby entry featuring a 20th-century door, and both the door and ground floor windows on the right have segmental heads.
