Description
The buildings at 28 and 30 High Street consist of a pair of houses, dating from the 18th century with alterations in the 19th century to an older structure. Timber framing is visible in the rear walls. The front facade is of colourwashed brick, with the left bay having a raised eaves line and cogged brickwork dating from the 19th century. The roof is tiled, with brick chimneys located to the gables and between the left bays. The houses are two storeys high and have four bays. The left bay features a three-light wooden casement window on the ground floor and a four-pane sash window above. The remaining bays have paired wooden casement windows, with segmental heads to the ground floor openings and 20th-century replacements to the first floor. A boarded door is located between the right bays. A 20th-century extension to the left incorporates some older walling and features an overhanging first floor, as well as a door to the right. The buildings are included on the list for their group value.
