Description
Dormers Cottage is a late 17th to early 18th century row of cottages located on Upper Street in Tingewick. Number 5 is positioned at a slight angle to the other two cottages, which are numbered 6 and 7. The cottages are constructed of rubble stone, while number 7 features a cement sprayed finish. Number 5 has a tiled roof, whereas numbers 6 and 7 have thatched roofs. Each cottage has brick stacks at the gable ends and between them, with the right-hand gable stack made of thin bricks and pilasters.
The row has two storeys. Number 5 features hipped dormers, while numbers 6 and 7 have windows integrated into the thatch. Timber lintels are present over the ground floor openings, and the glazing is irregular. Number 5 has barred casements and a modern halved door. Number 6 includes paired leaded casements, modern thatch windows, and a central panelled door. Number 7 has a half-glazed door with an altered wooden casement to the right.
