Description

The Old House is a house dating to the 17th century, with additions from the 18th century. It is timber framed with brick infill on a rubblestone plinth. The central two bays are timber-framed, while the eastern bay is colourwashed and rendered, and the western part is a two-bay rubblestone addition, with a two-bay barn beyond, the latter having a rubblestone lower part and colourwashed render above. The roofs are covered in plain tiles. The central bay has a door with a gabled hood supported by brackets. Each bay has three-light casement windows. A central stack is constructed of old thin bricks. The eastern bay features a three-light casement on the ground floor. The western bays include a doorway on the right, with swept eaves breaking over the upper floor three-light casement. There are two two-light casements to the ground floor, with cambered brick arches. The left-hand part has a blocked barn door with a casement above.
