Description
Lanthorn Cottage is a house dating from the 16th century that has been altered over time. It features a timber frame with some close studding and curved braces on the left gable and rear. The front facing the road has an altered frame with brick infill on the first floor, while the ground floor has been rebuilt in brick. The rear and gables are finished with colourwashed brick and rendered infill, along with some weatherboarding. The roof is tiled and has flanking brick chimneys, with the right chimney partly made of thin brick. The building is two storeys high and has three bays. The outer bays contain three-light barred wooden casements. There is a 20th-century door in the centre set within a 20th-century stop-chamfered frame. At the rear, the right bay is underbuilt in brick, featuring irregular barred wooden casements and a canted bay window in the centre.
