Description

Lock 33 on the Grand Union Canal is a canal lock built around 1800, with later repairs. It features brick retaining walls, some of which are rendered, topped with stone coping. The lock has two pairs of gates equipped with sluices and winding gear, with the quoins dated 1869 and 1872. At the northern end, there are brick steps and several cast iron bollards. Additionally, there are side ponds with sluices and winding gear dated to the late 19th century.
