Description
Lock-keeper's house at Lock Number 34 on the Grand Union Canal dates from the mid-19th century and was altered in 1932, as indicated by the date above the door. The house features whitewashed render and a hipped slate roof with rendered chimneys on either side. It is two storeys high with a basement and consists of two bays. On the ground floor, there are square bay windows topped with lean-to slate roofs and lacking glazing bars. The first floor has barred horizontal sliding sashes with segmental heads, although half of the right window is missing its glazing bars. The central section projects slightly and has a flush-panelled door set in a segmental head. There are basement openings at the rear.
