Description
The watermill at Ford End Farm is a late 18th-century structure that underwent significant restoration in 1965. The ground floor is constructed of red and vitreous brick, while the upper floor features a timber frame and weatherboard, topped with a corrugated iron mansard roof. The building stands two storeys high with an attic and has two bays. The center of the ground floor includes a boarded stable door, with a window and boarded shutter above it. There are similar windows in the right bay. To the right, there is an altered lean-to that covers the mill race and the overshot wheel, which has a low semi-circular arch at the front. The interior retains its complete machinery and grain bins and is maintained as a museum.
