Description
Hollands is a house dated 1702, as indicated by a brick plaque at the center, and it was altered in the 19th century. The building features chequer brick with vitreous headers, a flint plinth, boarded wooden eaves, an old tile roof, and a brick chimney on the left side. It is two storeys high with an attic and has two bays. There is a partial band course at the first floor level. The ground floor windows were modified in the early 19th century to 4-pane sashes with flat brick arches. The first floor windows were changed later in the 19th century to 3-light wooden casements that have single horizontal glazing bars, shaped heads for each light, and whitewashed board voussoirs. There are two hipped dormers with paired barred wooden casements that were re-inserted in 1972. The central entrance has a 20th-century half-glazed door within a whitewashed render surround. To the left, there is a whitewashed brick and weatherboard lean-to that is set back, and to the right, there is a 20th-century lean-to conservatory. At the back, there is a 19th-century whitewashed brick rear wing. Inside, the roof features curved wind-braces and heavy purlins.
