Description

This headstone, dated 1701, is located 3 metres east of the porch and 2 metres south of the nave at the Parish Church of St. Mary Magdalene in Upper Winchendon. Made of ironstone, it features putti at the center top, with a scroll and festoon below, which is hung from lion masks on either side, complete with decorative drops. The inscription reads: "In memory of Joseph Coxill only son of William and Elizabeth Coxill. He died Oct. the 25th 1701 aged 16 years."
