Description
Lock-keeper's house at Lock 39 on the Grand Union Canal, built in the early to mid-19th century. The house features whitewashed render and a hipped slate roof with a central brick chimney. The north front has one storey with two bays of three-pane sash windows and a half-glazed door to the left, all of which have segmental heads. The right side has a full lower storey with two bays; the upper left bay contains a similar sash window, while the other windows have been altered in the 20th century. There is also a 20th-century door with a flat wooden hood supported on brackets.
