Description
The garden walls in the garden of Bockmer House date from the 17th century to the early 19th century and incorporate older materials. They are constructed of flint and brick, with some sections featuring narrow brick dressings. Most of the walls have varying brick copings, while the walls to the south of the house have a moulded stone coping that is likely reused from an older house. These walls enclose a large garden to the east of Bockmer House and smaller gardens to the south. One of the southern gardens has a blocked opening with a four-centred chamfered arch. There are also stone steps leading to a mounting block at the end of the wall to the southwest of the house, and a low retaining wall to the southeast is included as well. These walls likely represent part of the original layout and large forecourt of a previous Bockmer House.
