Description

Bockmer End Farmhouse is a house with origins dating back to the 17th century, with a significant 18th-century addition and 20th-century alterations and extensions. The central part of the house retains remnants of the 17th-century structure, while a mid-to-late 18th-century range was added to the southeast. More recently, the northwest part of the house has been refurbished and extended.

The 18th-century facade is constructed of red and vitreous brick, repointed in the 20th century, with a whitewashed render plinth and dentil eaves. The roof has been retiled in the 20th century and is flanked by whitewashed roughcast chimneys. The house is two storeys high and has two bays. It features 20th-century, three-light wooden casements with segmental heads. A central 20th-century door is set within a painted stone surround and has a small hood above it. Above the door is a decorative panel of blue header brick. The side facing the road has two whitewashed roughcast gables and 20th-century brick extensions to the left.

Inside, some original timber framing remains in the 17th-century wing.
